California Innovation Hub Program - iHub

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship unit is the state’s primary point of contact for promoting California’s innovation infrastructure. It functions to develop an environment that encourages entrepreneurship, promotes long term economic growth and facilitates job creation through innovation. It also serves to convene key stakeholders needed to support GO-Biz activities throughout the state as well as stimulate entrepreneurship and the development of California’s innovation workforce. This unit is primarily responsible for the administration of California’s Innovation Hub (iHub) Program.
In an effort to harness and enhance California’s innovative spirit, the state of California launched its forward-thinking Innovation Hub (iHub) program. The iHub program improves the state's national and global competitiveness by stimulating partnerships, economic development, and job creation around specific research clusters through state-designated iHubs. The iHubs leverage assets such as research parks, technology incubators, universities, and federal laboratories to provide an innovation platform for startup companies, economic development organizations, business groups, and venture capitalists.

Cleantech Open

The Cleantech Open runs the world’s largest cleantech accelerator. Its mission is to find, fund and foster entrepreneurs with big ideas that address today’s most urgent energy, environmental and economic challenges. A 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, the Cleantech Open provides the infrastructure, expertise and strategic relationships that turn clever ideas into successful global cleantech companies.
Since 2006, through its one-of-a-kind annual accelerator and mentorship program, the Cleantech Open has enabled 865 cleantech startups to bring their breakthrough ideas to fruition, helped its alumni companies raise more than $950M in external capital, and created thousands of green-collar jobs. Fueled by a global network of more than 1,500 volunteers and sponsors, the Cleantech Open unites the public and private sectors in a shared vision for making America’s and the world’s cleantech sectors a thriving economic engine. |
